Lover's Point

Acrylic on Canvas (7"x5") Once upon a time there was a beautiful young woman whose father was Spanish and mother was Chamorro. Her father was a very powerful and well respected man in the village. He wanted her to marry a man of his choosing, a Spanish captain. She ran away away from the central part of the island to the northern shores where she met and fell in love with a young Chamorro warrior from a modest family. They were hunted down by her father and fiance. One night while meeting her lover, an army of Spaniards found them at the point, the two tied their long black hair into a single knot, they looked deep into eachothers eyes and kissed one last time, then leaped over the long deep cliff into the sea. Gateway to Heaven

Acrylic on Canvas (7"x5") Georgia Okieffe inspired me to do this piece as did the voice in my mind, God. Let's just say that salvation is the key to your mansion. $50

Raging Sky

Tangerines to the Left

Oil on Canvas (16"x20") I was sitting on my board at left side Boat Basin with Mae Mendiola when the sky started to turn colors. All around us everything just turned orange and red. We sat there with nothing to say, but look, wow! It's days like this when I know God is revealing his beauty to us...now, if only they could fix those pipes. SOLD

Harmony

Fishing for Gold

Oil on Canvas (16"x20") I painted this piece as a dedication to my dad and my brothers. They are die hard lovers of the ocean. This style of monochromatic was inspired by Lisa Beighley who had a book on the Green Palm Gallery documenting works of contemporary Vietnamese painters. I was moved by Vu Duc Hieu. Also I felt the need to express the importance of constantly fishing for a "Golden Day." SOLD

Turner In the Mist

Acrylic on Canvas (16"x20") Although JWTurner has passed on to the next life, he was the the artist who helped me accept my fate as a seascape painter. Most of the time I paint images that swim in my mind or flood my soul. At first, it was difficult to understand and accept myself as kind of painter. But then I discovered Turner and found that all things happen for a reason. The ocean has been the one element in this world that has kept me sane. SOLD

Orange Julius

Oil on Canvas (16"x20") An image taken from memory. Orange can be loud or it can be soothing depending on how it's used. This is just like having a "Golden Day." SOLD

Big Fish

Acrylic on Canvas (16"x20") I live by this rock so sometimes it's difficult not to think of it when I sit down to paint. The sunset in this area is amazing. $270
